Candied Bacon & Apple Breakfast Sandwich

Updated: Mar 12, 2021

  • 2-3 slices Maple Candied Bacon (see recipe post below)

  • 1 cinnamon raisin English muffin, toasted

  • 4-5 thick slices of apple (pictured is honey crisp, but my favorite for this sandwich is green apple)

  • 2 Tbsp. peanut butter

  • 1 Tbsp. caramel sauce

  1. Toast the English muffin and while still hot, spread 1 Tbsp of peanut butter on one half of the English muffin, and repeat with the other.

  2. Place apple slices on top of the melty peanut butter, on both pieces of the muffin. Add your candied bacon on top.

  3. Top with the caramel sauce.

  4. Put the halves together to make your sandwich and watch the gooey-ness commence!

  5. Enjoy! Have napkins ready!

This sandwich is inspired from a breakfast sandwich I used to make and serve at my very first job. When I was 16 I worked at the cutest little pie shop in the whole wide world, Sweetie-licious Bakery Café in Dewitt Michigan. I owe my love of food to Linda Hundt because I learned so much while working there. Her recipes are incredible and helped to inspire me in a lot of the combinations I currently use, like this sandwich.

There used to be a breakfast sandwich on the menu very similar to this but I believe they put marshmallow fluff on it as well. Oh my goodness - was it AMAZING! When I got my first job out of college, I started making myself this bacon and apple sandwich for breakfast because it was fast and easy, especially when the bacon is pre-cooked. Try it out for yourself and let me know what you think in the comments below.
